Hey again, I went ahead and brought the 8800 GTS Graphics Card and i recieved it this wednesday :D . I had ago at installing it today with a friend of mine (cos i diddnt feel like waiting til monday for the technician to come round), and it made some wierd noise  also no picture came up. Could this be a problem with the GFX Card or something to do with the way we installed it.

Cheers

Hard Drive:

512MB GeForce 7300GS PCI-X

Is that not a typo? 250 watts is insanely low...

edit:

I use a 480 watt...and a decent make but it's actually been so long since I got it that I've forgotten exactly what it is, lol.

C2D @ 3.2
2GB ram
8800GTS (620/2200)
74GB Raptor, old 80GB maxtor
DVD RW drive
Audigy2 ZS

I go fairly minimalist in my gaming PC, but I'm still pretty sure that I've pushed this PSU as far as it'll go.

Does your PSU even have 2 spare molex connectors for the 6-pin adapter? (I'm assuming the PSU doesn't have a built-in 6-pin PCI-E connector)

Yup it does  well i think it does, because i managed to connect the GFX Card to it :p

Edit: I just read that i need "500W minimum for PSU and 600W+ is recommended." :(

I know this is quite a strange question but is it possible to increase the PSU, since it says "Watts 250+"

Also will the GFX Card i brought for my bro work on 250 Watts:-
OcUK GeForce 8600 GT 256MB

Cheers

PS. Sorry for double posting

er... no lol fraid not

actually is it possible... just noticed he said 8600... :o

Eeek yus it's your power supply - 8800 GTS is a monster and so requires at least a decent PSU - I'm going to go with 460W or higher... preferably anything above 500W will cut it!

Hmm overclocking your PSU.. that's new... lol :p
Sorry buddy nope - no more watts are going to be squeezed out of it.

Cheers i was actually curious when i saw a PSU for like £26 which had 600 Watts, i guess i'll stick with going for Coolmasters or something like you said ;)
