Will I be able to run bioshock maxed with native resolution on a 22" monitor, using a 8800 gts 640MB? Or would it look better on a 20" screen?

Also, are there any issues with playing games on a widescreen monitor? Like distortion?

Thanks

22" and 20" are mostly the same resolution, 1650 x 1080. I went for the extra inches!

There is one out at 1920 x 1200 (can't remember the make) for those who are not as visually challenged as I am, I like my text readable!

PS, there is a Wide Screen Gamers website somewhere, that site has lots of info on games at widescreen. Google is your freind!

A 22" and a 20" screen are both the same resolution 1680 x 1050 so no difference there.

You will be fine at that res with a 640 8800 GTS especially if you overclock the card. Overclocked GTS are almost as quick as stock GTX.

From memory I think the lowest your speed on max with bioshock is over 30 fps.

You'll get a minimum of over 45 fps with a GTX but a 640Mb 8800 will be fine in my opinion.

And most recent games and all future games have widescreen modes built in so no distortion.

Some older games have workarounds to setup up widescreen however really old games will need to be either played with black columns down the left and right or streched across the widescreen.

Completed bioshock on a 22" maxed on my rig in sig and it never had any signs of slowdown, so fear not and enjoy :)
