8800 GTS SLi Question

The description on OCuk of the BFG GTS 8800 320MB says this:

Note: These cards require PCI-E x16 slots, they will not function in a x8 slot so for SLi you need dual x16 mainboard. Finally 500W minimum for PSU and 600W+ is recommended.

I was just wondering is this definite? Would i be able to run 2 GTS's (or a GTS and any other PCI-E Card) in SLi on this motherboard:

I think on that board each card only gets 8x in SLi.

I have heard that you can run on dual 8x and that it makes no performance difference

I am sure some1 will answer for definite in am min though

Yeah they run fine in 8x slots.
