8800 gts

Hi my 8800 gts came yesterday and i benched in 3dmark 03 result is 22346 which to me seems low, i tried 3dmark 2006 but when i run said prog just sit's there doing nothing not sure why mm , any way like i said seem low to me or am i being to greedy want more.

my rig is as follows.

64 4000+ san diago core runing stock.
2 gig ram
8800 gts

i had a 7800 gtx and read some post of lads having same card and going to 8800 gts with great results well mine not so great.
ps dont get me wrong runs stuff at 1600 1200 kinda ok but thought it would be better.

2003 aint the one to test new cards as its not shader heavy i recall the same with me when i had a x1900xt i was abit dissapointed but was fine on 05/06, i have not run my 8800gts on 2003 but overclocked on 2006 i get 10355(650/2000) which is just about on par with a stock gtx so more than happy.

Maybe its drivers you are on ? the best ones i have found for me on a bfg 8800gts is the 97.02's no probs with anything on these, did try 97.28's but when i played a movie back i noticed flickering on it.

Thx Jabbs will try 2006 again last time i tried 2006 just sat there doing nothing,some one told me i need latest ver of 2006 so i'll go with that.

also will try your clock see what happends

just done 2006 and have 6173 which is well off your score 10355 jezzz i know your over clocked but even ?

im using same drivers 97.02 must have some thing wrong mm

I get around 6000 on 2k6 on my 3700 clawhammer and 8800GTS. So your score sounds about right to me. You have to remember that a big part of that score is down to the CPU test. As 3d mark 06 takes advantage of dual core, anyone with a single core chip is going to get what looks like a slightly poor score. I'd just ignore it and play some games.
