8800 gtx cooling

hmmm, you'd glue a £4 fan onto a £400 card... perhaps not a great idea.

The cooling on the GTX should be fine - make sure your case has fan intakes and exhausts to keep the air flowing inside. :)

yeah. they dont get that hot? if your case cooling is set up correctly, you should be fine really. no need to glue another fan to the card.

you'd be beter of cutting a whole in your case and making a duct to the cards fan with a bit of pipe or something lol.

i was thinking of buying: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-000-YS and gluing it over my 8800 gtx stock fan,
u know that round whole, blowing extra air inside, would this help cool the card as these beasts get pretty hot.
the fan is only 4 quid and i think it would chanel more air into the card. what do you think :)

Rubbish Idea.

There is nothing wrong with the stock cooler.

If your card is running hot you have bad air flow in your case.

lol i got told :D,

i got the antec p180 4 120 mm fans 2 exhaust around my tuniq 120mm

2 intace 1 lower chamber for psu 1 front of case it seems to me maybe the air flow doesnt realy go to much over the gpu as its botom left and exhasut are top left intake botom right?

its not like super glue is permanent or any thing lol

It doesn't need to go over the GPU, that's what the GPU fan is for (as I understand it). As long as you (a) get cool air in and (b) get hot air out, there shouldn't be a problem.

P180 and a Tuniq, what a coincidence, that's my build. I went for a GTS, easier to fit :D

What is the problem with cooling the 8800 GTX? - you know these cards run hot, and nvidia have had them running up to 100oC without problems...

i know what he meant he wanted extreme air cooling i seen it in an article they had a 80mm channel fan onto the gtx.

they are other things u can do.

download rivatuner and set your fan to 100% all the time.

and buy a an akasa system exhaust blower from ocuk and mount it under your 8800 GTX.

the fan tends to blow more air out the grill's on the bottom of the card rather than the ones at the very end which exhaust out of your case.

my temps are around 50c idle 68c is highest ive seen under load.

clocked at 640/1000 or 2000 mem

thats without the exhaust blower i only ordered it hoping for 650=660 core :D
then ill break 12k in 06 easily
