Hi all, got 2 8800 GTX running in sli, on the box it states that the core clock is 626MHz and the memory clock is 2000MHz when i go into the nvidia control panel it states core bus 626MHz which is ok and memory bus 1000MHz how do i get this up to 2000MHz as stated on the box, i have been into the bios and the only thing i can see is the pci-e slots with linkboost next to them and also the current value is set to auto and the value of 100 is set, the value does go all the way up to 200 but i didn't want to adjust this before i got some expert help from you guys, pc specs are below

2x bfg 8800 gtx
evga nforce 680i sli motherboard
2gb duel channel memory
qx6700 quad core
enermax galaxy 1000w power supply

Some one should do a sticky breaking down all these questions that are asked frequently. This is one of those questions that we all see reguarly.

That's one of the oldest and most often asked questions and until someone tells you, it's pretty hard to guess.

Loadsamoney is quite right. The frequency IS indeed only half the speed. It just loads up twice the data per waive length. Double Data.

Thanks a lot guys thats been a big help, just 1 more question i only get 1 card showing up in the control panel is this normal, still getting to grips with this new rig only built it 2 days ago, run stalker with everything on max looks and plays perfect, also i have xp pro running is the dx10 only for vista? and is it worth upgrading to vista or am i better staying as i am for now

Cheers guys thanks for all the help

afaik dx10 is only for vista - there may be work arounds coming out in the future but im not sure if this will be possable. Xp/Vista is personal choice at the end of the day.

You have to enable Sli for the second card to kick in.

Sadly I'm still using some older drivers with the older (better) interface, and I can't instruct you step by step how to make the second card work. In fact I can't even tell you what to look for to confirm if it's working on not.

Yes i have enabled the sli function in the control panel but it only displays 1 set of clocks (core and memory)

Ah, well that's normal. Both cards run at the same speed. If you were to overclock, you'd overclock both simulatainiously, not individually.
