8800 GTX OC2 to ???

Im ditchinmg my 780i board and going back to an Intel chipset so waving bye bye to my 8800 GTX OC2 SLI set up

I game at 1920 x 1200 on a 24" montor - am i better off with a 4870 or 4850 for this res (i assume that the ATI offers more and better value for money than NV ATM ?)

Initially looking at a single card, but "may" go crossfire at a later date

Any thoughts ?

Do you mind if I ask why you are changing the motherboard?

The only single card setup that will be faster than your 8800gtx sli is a 4870x2, and even then I don't think the difference would be huge.

If your going crossfire then get a HD4850, if not your going to get reduced performance with any single card available under a GTX280.

Because the 780i has given me nothing but grief since I bought it and has just today finally packed in :|

This is only my second Nfarce chipset and im now firmly staying with Intel Chipsets TBH.

4870X2, simply because of the improved chip to chip comm structure. It's faster than Xfiring 2 4870's.
