8800 GTX overclocking guide...

...I have had a brief search, though I've found nothing extensive. Whats the best way of increasing my clock speed safely and what programs should I use?

i use ati tool for my 8800gts, just increase the clock speed by 5 then scan for artifacts for a bit and keep doing that until you find your max, and repeat for memory

OK, read about that on here. Why is the utility you'd use called ATI tool when we have NVidia cards lol

OK I ran it for about 8 mins on stock settings and the program reports temps hitting 76. Is that not a bit high?

No for these cards i dont think thats high. I think some have theirs running in the 90s. But dont quote me on that as i dont have my card yet to back that up

I wouldn't really trust the AtiTool artifacts tester, it's way too sensitive, use games for stability testing, pick 4-5 games you are gonna play a lot, and sit down and play them for an hour or so. Get RivaTuner and overclock shaders too, that'll give a huge boost.
