8800 GTX Reviews here

Hmm.

My XTX is 1k behind in 2005, 2k behind in 2006 and the XTX beats it in HL2 by 2 FPS at 1600x1200.

Other than that a 30-50% improvement.

Its reasonable but no reason to upgrade from a 7900/X1900 if your running at below 1600x1200.

Plus you can't Fold on it ay? :P

Not enough there to sway me from my GX2, yea its better but not by enough to justify the £££.
Im going kentsfield at christmas, and hopefully by april we will see the second Gen G80 and DX10/vista and proper drivers all working together to give a further jump.

isnt hl2 very favourable to ATI?

It doesnt like SLI afaik

Unless I'm missing something the 1950xtx is 3600 behind the 8800gtx in 3D06.

Those SLI figures are junk as well. 11k in 3D06 with SLIed GTX's? Looks like a typical Inquirer review tbh and they're not even using the N690 board are they?

currently got a X1900XT playing at 1920x1200 (if the games supports it) and 1600x1200 do you think i should buy one of these in january when i get some money???

im surprised to see that when there in sli theres only 1000marks difference

It looks great and even the FSAA and HDR works on this card!!

They only used an FX CPU for the benches. If they was to use a Core 2 Duo or Quad Core the 8800GTX would pull away further, especially with 3Dmark scores. .

And i'm glad it can now do AA + HDR. Because i'll be ordering one soon!
Already have a 7900GTX but i have two 1920x1200 monitors and a 8800GTX will be a massive upgrade for me, a lot more than going from my 7800GTX > 7900GTX, and i should finally be able to play oblivion at 1920x1200 with everything on full.

I guess you took one look at the link, saw it was the inquirer and didn't bother to read it.
Yes, they using an slightly older set-up, but they even admit that, and said a core 2 would likely score higher.
By using a different set-up each time you're hardly making fair comparisons with older cadrs are you?

Besides not every one has a core 2 system yet, so those Athlon 64 benchmarks are useful to some of us :)

Erm, yeah reading it was how I saw that the 8800gtx scored 3600 more marks than the XTX.

I've just ordered the BFG 8800 GTX card and the eVga 680 based motherboard.

If you knew the pain I'm going through with my MSI 975X Platinum Powerup and a 7950 GX2...

Of course, I also need a new case because there's no way on this planet that the card is going to fit inside my Thermaltake Tsunami, but I'll have to wait until the Silverstone Temjin TJ09 is released.
