Hi all..

I have a 8800 gtx running at 65 c idle.I have had problems lately in game but have just updated drivers. Is this temperature a little high for this card anyone please?

Many Thanks

I would say that 65c was a little hot. With the stock cooler mine was idling at 57c and load was 77c, and that was OCed to 621/999. Temps with my new HR03-PLUS are 42/52 idle/load with an OC of 648/1026.

You need good case cooling with these cards, so I'd ensure you have your case clutter free, and try to ensure you have an intake fan blowing some air over it.

Lay-z-boy, your idle temps would definitely worry me - what temps does it reach under load?

Them Temps are fine......My 8800gtx idles around 61c and about 80c underload...These standard 8800gtx coolers are excellent...

My last card which was a ATI x1900xt-x use to run at 90+c underload and the fan used to be very loud..

I agree, your temps look fine and pretty much the same as mine

my 8800gts at idle is about 51 degrees but when i overclock it it goes up to the high 60's my case cooling is pretty good (2x120mm 1x 92mm case fans) but is it true the 8800 series can cope ok with temps upto 70+degrees before crashing

Should be ok even in the 90's

If you look as the alert threshold in software like ntune...The default settings are around 127c
