Oblivion playable with everything maxed at 1900x1200 with anti-aliasing on both the GTX and GTS.

Edit: Actually forget that:

"The highest playable setting we experienced in Oblivion with a single BFGTech GeForce 8800 GTX was 2560x1600 with NoAA/16X AF and maximum in-game settings. You are reading that correctly, we managed to have the fade sliders to maximum, the grass slider to maximum, all the shadows to maximum and turned on, plus HDR at 2560x1600 with 16X AF. The lowest we saw the framerate dip was 34 FPS in dense grass and trees." - From the HardOCP review

<realises that in a few months you will be able to get this kind of performance for a couple of hundred quid and starts giggling maniacally>

Can see why so many have empty wallets now... we cant say to much the G80 series offers better IQ/performance then any other single card soloutions, and to add the milk its still less power @ load and less noise then all the top end cards :)

Only acception is the price..... but then u pay for quality.

Give it just 2 months and I betcha the prices come down by £60-100. Bet we will see them GTS @350ish and GTX @ 400 by then.
 
Results for the 8800gtx are very very impressive but if you already on a high end card like a x1900/1950 or 7900gtx it looks as if the 8800gts is pretty much same areas as those.
 
just swapped from a 7950gx2 to a 8800GTX all i've done is benchmark at the mo... point of note this is on a working system withh all my rubbish installed.

running on a DS4
C2D E6700
7950 with cpu @ 3.0ghz 3D06 8090
8800 with cpu @ 2.67ghz 3D06 9515

there is a marked difference and the 8800 is far more future proof.

time to ebay my 7950 me thinks
 
Good thing aswell its 1 card so theres no sli issues with games etc you know everygame is going to run good.

and vista rc2 will install without crashing when it gets confused by sli!
