I bought an ultra which is 8 or so months old. I've taken off the HSF and cleaned the old crusty tim of the GPU spreader but I was wondering if I should take the thick white pads off the memory chips and reapply TIm to those as well? They look quite thick, would a dollop (technical term!) be ok on them?

I'd leave the memory thermal tape tape as-is, I don't think liquid TIM would really help with the memory as the tape seems to create some pressure between the two and thus slightly better contact.

Edit: That said a while back I cleaned the thermal gunk off my G80 GTS 320 and wow that'd turned nasty, solid even. Got a nice layer of Arctic Ceramique on it now. :p
