8800 ultra

my ultra ive had for just over 7 months now and has started to run over 110c when running css (normaly runs 80c idle)

my cpu runs 20-25 full load northbridge 30-50

after about 30 mins textures mix in with eachother and have to use a deskfan blown on it to even play the damm game also running 100% in riva

do i rma it? ive cleaned the dust and checked everything!!

Even 80c at idel is way too high !!

it might just be clogged up with dust...if you have a can of compressed air. Try blowing out the dust.

Opps just noticed you said you cleaned it out...well it could be the fan might be just dying.

i cleaned the dust out a few weeks ago

i might take it all apart 2morrow and apply some new thermal paste to all the points!! i don't really wanna do this tbh since if it doesn't make a differnts and i rma it they will know ive done something !!

I would RMA it, as they have to give you equal or better performance, so if they don't have any Ultra's left (which is unlikely seen as they've been EOL since January), then they'll have to give you better, and the only better card is the GX2, so you can't lose on an RMA, worst you'll get back is another Ultra if they still have some kicking about.

you are right this is how i got my ultra in the first place i had my gtx till it died 6 months later and got a ultra so i could send it back and get a gx2 lol bit cheeky though 2 free upgrades!!!
