what is the difference between the 8800 and fx 1500 i know the quadro's are more expensive for some of them but whats the main diff and would they be any good in a game ?

Quadros have a few hardware differences but it's nothing to get excited over. For the most part you're paying for the ultra-stable Quadro drivers which are tested most thoroughly. The cards're no better and sometimes worse than their consumer counterparts. It's a pretty poor purchase if you ask me, even if you're building a workstation. Get the 8800.

was just wanting to know the difference tbh i saw them on a new system that uses ddr3 andit was the default choice ..... i had some guessing designers used them or summit ....

The FX1500 is a workstation card, so unless that's what you need, go for the 8800, which is geared towards gaming.

Benefits of workstation cards is that they are geared primarily towards CAD (And have additional hardware functions specifically for that.), etc. They can also drive super high resolutions. If I recall the FX1500 has 2x Dual Link DVI, which you need if you want to run stupidly high resolutions like 3840 x 2400.

So does normal 8800's well my Ultra does.

" Dual dual-link DVI supports two 2560 x 1600 resolution displays "

dont get the Quadro type cards if you dont do CAD or such as said above by myself and others, and all these cards use GDDR3.

that is a crazy resolution!!! Though with engineering plans its probably the kind of workspace you want
