8800gs colour issue

A mate bought a 2nd hand 3850PRO 256 meg and it displayed things perfectly and played games nicely. After a while he swapped the card for a virtually new 8800GS by XFX as the current owner couldn't live with the fan noise. The thing is the colours don't seem as bright and realistic as they did on the Radeon. Does he need to download a patch or set up his monitor some way to display the colours better? The colours simply look washed out in comparison to the Radeon. Also tried setting display to 'quality' but it's no better.

All the old ATI drivers have been removed.

He plays on a CRT 19" Relisys which is in good order and runs Vista 32 bit. Running driver 169.32, any help appreciated. The driver was the official one from the Nvidia site, latest apparently.

Apparantly the default Nvidia colour is dull and washed out. A lot of people have been saying it. You will need to do some colour tweaking in the Nvidia control panal.

Check for an option called Digital Vibrance, it's turned off by default but really could do with tweaking a few notches.
