8800GT but which brand ????

Im looking to get a 8800GT unless someone convinces me that theres a better ATI alternative for arounf the same price.
Anyways im wondering which is the best/better brand to go for.....

Ive read that some people have complained about some brands cooling fan making too much noise?? any ideas which ?

Is it worth replacing them with an alternative less noisy fan ?? is it the s1 cooler fan I should be looking at?

Also is there a brand which I should avoid like the plague??


Last months PCFormat said to go for the cheapest and overclock it as theres not too much between them, unless some1 tells me the HD3870x2 is the way to go ?

Most cards you get are only different in the bundled gear and the warranties they offer. It's usually best to go for the cheapest option, but when prices go up in steps of £10 or less, a longer warranty is always a nice thing to have, especially when the warranties extend longer than you plan to keep the card

Just go for what's cheapest. Got an OC'd version for £160. They're all basically the same card with different logos on!

I got a Gainward BLISS GeForce 8800 GT 512MB from ocuk recently and are delighted with the performance (I find it very quite too)

I have the Asus card which uses their custom cooler and hits 700/1750/2000 MHz overclock without any problem.
