8800gt - can I use the fan header with a 120mm fan?

Right now I'm using an Accelero S1 on my 8800gt with a 120mm fan zip-tied to it running at 700rpm. Works fine, but I was wondering if I could use the fan header on the GFX card to control the speed of the fan, set up profiles, etc.
