8800GT - Cannot play DVDs - HELP?!

Have just built a new machine, using an Asrock ALive NF5SLi-1394 AM2 nVidia nF560SLi' motherboard and Xpertvision 8800GT graphics card. Windows XP Pro running on it.

When I try to play a DVD in Windows Media Player, I get the error message :

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card."

When I try to do the same in InterActual Player 2.0, I get the error message

"Playback failed due to an error with the audio subsystem. Please ensure the sound card is properly installed or close any applications that may use the sound card."

The video card does seem to have the latest drivers installed for it. Any ideas please??

Nope - doesn't seem to play in WMP Classic either. Just get the message 'DVD: Copy-Protect Fail' in small writing at the bottom left.

Yep - sound card drivers installed. To be sure, I just ran the additional sound card stuff that came on the motherboard driver CD and it all seems ok. Checked in Device Manager too - no exclamation marks or anything.

Interestingly, I have tried playing a DVD in 'Nero Essentials' which came with the DVD player and it does play, but without any sound. Also get a popup message which says, "...the multimedia file you have selected requires the use of Dolby(R) Digital. Nero is pleased to offer you access to this technology with a FREE 30-day trial". This leads to a massive download (300MB or something?) which I don't fancy.

Aaaarrrgh. Any ideas anyone?
