8800GT core

referring to my other thread...

I can get the core any higher than 682 infact up to 700+ but in Ati tool my comp will freeze for a few seconds then unlock, be perfectly fine, then freeze again. and switch between frozen and unfrozen.

Is this just cus its too high, if all the other clocks are at stock and i put the core at any higher it does this...

Im running the latest BETA drivers...??

my old ati card does that too.. but it doesnt unfreeze i have to shut down pc (by back switch)

yeh thats what i thought, but then its back to the fact that you can buy a 8800GT with a 700Mhz core, and i was told on this forum there all the same so buy any???

The temps are fine...?

What temps you actually getting?

My understanding is that it's down to luck wether you get a good clocker or not !

Not worth losing any sleep even it won't go above ,say, 650 marginal gains anyway imo

looking on the bright side m8 you appear to have acheaved higher shader clocks than mei get that stoopid driver stoped working rubbish at around 1620

Nowt wrong with the 8800 its overclocks are fine.

That looks cool enough - so no simple overheating problem.
