8800GT graphical corruption

Hi all

A new game (Cities in Motion) appears to be causing my good old 8800GT a problem. In both Windows 7 and Windows XP (with the latest nVidia drivers installed) I will eventually start to get graphical corruption while playing the game. This takes the form of a checkerboard effect right across the screen. In Windows 7 this will usually result in the game either shutting down or freezing. In Windows XP, this eventually resulted in a BSOD.

I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on this. Am I looking at a hardware or software issue here? The computer is otherwise working just fine and doesn't seem to display any graphical corruption in other games (admittedly none that are likely as taxing as this one).

Many thanks

Michael.

get msi afterburner and check the temp of the gpu, sounds like hardware, but if thats the only taxing game you play then its probably temps if its not happening in anything else.

Any good taxing demos I can download to try and see if they cause corruption too?

My GPU temps are always really high as it's a fanless heatsink cooled by a very slow moving 120mm fan. Idle temps are about 74ºC.
