I know a lot of people have been having problems with their 8800GT's also, is this a driver issue or a temperature issue that people are reporting - I've just been playing Crysis with my fan speed set to 55% and I was 15minutes playing and it locked up and I had to manually reboot using the power button.

Should I be worried or is it just a case of further increasing the fan speed??

Not got the card, would say probably heat if it runs X time then acts up, no harm in 100% fan speed in a game (unless its really loud and games not loud).

Yeah, I did set this up according to the guide on the website it comes from but this doesn't seem to work for me. I might just stick it on 65% before I game and just have it sit at 30% whilst in windows.

Yeah I couldn't get it to work either.

Your solution sounds like it's probably best, just setting two profiles.

I've got/had this exact problem with both a GT and GTS. I had to increase the fan speed directly to about 60% minimum and it was ok, didn't crash once I'd done that. It makes me wonder if these coolers that are fitted are really up to the job when the card is overclocked. saying that, it also happened with both cards at stock, just took longer to lock up.
