8800GT leaks

Those benchmarks look wrong, I thought vram mattered more at higher resolutions? If so, why would a 640mb card be mullered by a 512 or 256mb card at 1920 x 1200?

I'm taking those benchies with a pinch of salt.

Neither would I however the author of those benchmarks did say he had problems with his Ultra and couldn't get it working properly so why he didn't just miss the Ultra results off to add more credibility to his results is beyond me.

vram only comes into being at higher res only if the game needs them.

In certain games my 8800 320Mb matches a 640Mb to 1920 x 1200 and beyond in framerates.

In others, the performance has halved by the time the res is at 1650 x 1280.

Look at the 1gb 2900. There isn't a game out (yet) where the extra 512Mb adds any extra performance.
 
why all this theres a faster better card than the one we on about in this thread reply. this is a 8800 gt sorry for rant but yes theres a new 8800 gts but then you forgot maybe a new gtx or maybe a better card . lets keep on track . 8800 gt plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. well these should be here next monday so come on with the benchmarks nvidia anyone thats genuine .
