Looking for a bit help here. just got my new mobo and set it up yesterday.

It should work with a single graphix card acording to the manual. i have tried it in all 3 of the slots and it wont work, all i get is no signal.

any help would be great.

I know the card is working as it had been taken out an old machine 5 minutes before and worked when it went back in.

the card is an 8800GT 512mb gfx
here is the mther board it is being used with http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-261-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1057&name=Asus%20P5N-T%20Deluxe%20nForce%20780i%20(Socket%20775)%20PCI-Express%20DDR2%20Motherboard

Would it be worth while reseting the bios?

not sure if that would have any effect. the mobo doesnt even have a built in gfx port so cant be that

Edit: i also forgot to say the fan on the gfx comes on so is getting power.

Have you tried another card in the mobo? Also I have in the past forgotten to plug in the external power plug from the PSU, I presume you've done that?

Also, try resetting the BIOS. It's possible also that you have a dead motherboard/cpu/memory or not a powerful enough PSU... The list goes on.

Yeah the power cord is deffinetly in.

The mobo is brand new so is the 600w antec psu. ram is 1066mhz crucial balistix tracer ram 4x1gb.

The GPU, CPU and HDD came from my old machine and all work fine.

The gfx works again if you ut it in the old machine

Now you come to mention that it does say in the manual if you are using xp only use 3 sticks of ram but didnt think it should have an effect as the HDD has been formated so how would it know what im using

Just try running on one stick of RAM. Just because the grx card is showing no picture, unless there is one long beep from the system (indicating graphics failure) it doesn't mean that it is the card that is actually not working. Just try one stick of RAM and see if it POSTs. Then add another and another until it nolonger does so. Then remove it again.

Cheers will try that tonite.

Wont be untill 9pm, stupidly opened my mouth and agreed to overtime WHY?

Here is a strange one. if i manage to get the gfx working and i decide to go with the SLI would an alphadog edition gfx card with same spec be ok?

i was under the impression that alphadogs were overclocked is this true?

Yes i have two monitors, of which both work and so does the gfx card in my old system,

bit twoing and throwing this morning tested everything possible, even been speaking to Ashley in OCUK and the chaps most helpfull, so patient, an asset to the company as i was continuously phoning this morning due to virgin never delivering me emails.

RMA'd the board think the poor things sick, Next story in the saga is trying to send a parcel. Citylink wont alow me to send unless i have an acount, royal mail wont accept at the sorting office, nearest post office is over the other side of town from me and in a different town from work. fires accross to the post office and low and behold there closed for lunch. YIPEEEEEE, im chewing bricks today lol
