8800GT Noise Level?

Yeah mine is, mines as quiet as my old GTS, only time it sounds like a leaf blower is for about 4 seconds on switch on when it runs full pelt. 
Well it is if left on auto, however the card will get mentally hot and in the worst case scenario the PC could catch fire and burn all your pr0n collection!
Ok that last bit was silly (i'm in a silly mood pardon me) but the card does become scorching hot!
If you wanna combat the heat you need to take control of the fan and speed it up, then comes the noise!

I've used the asus smartdoctor on mine and set it to manual control, adjusting the 3 speed increase setting temps, seems to work ok, but granted these cards get very very hot.

I've set up fan profiles using Rivatuner, set it 50% fan speed > 65C, 70% > 80C, 100% > 90C...found an old exhaust blower identical to this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SY-000-GE&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=399 fitted it underneath the 8800GT, quiet and works a treat, sucks a lot of hot air outside the case. haven't had the 70% fan kick on yet. At 2D the 30% fan is silent, and the 50% fan barely audible. Anyone wants to see a piccy let me know.

Big.Wayne, what program did you use to load the GT? 3dmark06? Crysis?

Omg that thread's too long to read but by the fur rendering description I'm guessing it's ATItool?
I just want to know so that I use the same program for setting my fan speeds with rivatuner.
