Has anyone got one that will work straight out of the box on this mb and if so which one do you have :)

Also i am right in thinking i will see a big jump from my x1950pro on AGP

TIA

edit: Sorry just saw the thread below regarding similiar subject, would be interested to know which actual one works so i can purchase it.

Nope. It has to have an updated bios. Only those with an Asus GT have got it to work straight away, hence peeps flash their gt's to asus's bios. I believe there is another general gt bios out there though. Check if there is an updated bios for the motherboard to allow GT's (I haven't looked yet).

However, a 3850 or 3870 will work straight away, you just have to disable the PCI-E Downstream Pipeline (in the bios) and it will work lovely :) (there is also an updated bios to 'officially' support the 38xx series as well.)

lol.. fair enough, cheap enough to warrant binning I suppose. Should have flogged it though, would have made your new board cheaper :)

It's very easy to get the 8800gt working in the Asrock, but you do need another mobo that will run it from stock.

Once you've got into windows all you do is read the video card bios through NiBiTor change the PCI Express setting to GEN 1, and then flash the card.

Mine works fine now.
