8800GT or upgrade?

OK, this has prob been done to death, but am gonna ask it again anyways.

I posted earlier in the CPU forum, going a bit off topic (!) about selling my 8800GT and going for a 512GTS, as I see they be cheap at the mo. Worth it?

I was thinking of doing the same until I was advised against it.
I think it depends on what resolution you use?
Also how much the upgrade will cost-i.e. the sale of your 8800gt then the purchase of the gts.

So the extra performance I'd be looking for wouldn't be there then?

I game at 1680x1050, and I spose it'd cost me less than £50 extra after my GT's sold.

Not for 1680x1050 I've seen benchmarks of the GT beating the GTS at that resolution, even when the GTS comes out on tops at that res the difference is negligeable. If you've got the £50 look at upgrading the cooler / ramsinks and increasing performance through overclocking.

Edit: Would that void my warranty? I've got one of those pre OC'd versions (thought I'd save myself the trouble, and keep my warranty )
