Hi guys, had my Inno 3D 8800GT for a week now and i've very happy how it performs, kicks my x1800xt into the curb.

Anyways I didn't bother overclocking until now as I couldn't be bothered to take the VF900 off my x1800XT but thats's now done. Is it ok to use just the zalman ram sinks on the ram and the mosfets?

Anywho as for the GPU temp atleast overheating is not a issue, with the stock cooler it was reaching above 80C at load! Now it doesnt even reach 50C under stock clocks.

Now I theres a bios voltmod and a hardware voltmod right? I want todo the Bios voltmod how do I go about doing that and is it ok to do it on this INNO 3D model? What exactly does the Bios voltmod increase just the GPU Vcore or the ram aswell?

Cheers guys.

EDIT: After reading some more I see a lot of you guys max your memory at exactly 2000, is there a reason for this? Bit scared to push my memory with just the Zalman's on them.

You might as well have a go and see how far you can get everything, before you go looking at voltmods
My max stable clock is 700/1750/2024 - anything over 700 and i get problems, but unless youve got a bad card you should be able to get to 700 easily.
Personally i think the Ram will be fine as long as they re getting a bit of air over them from the fan.

Yeah i've been ocing it - not finding exactly what the max mhz is for each thing as 10-15 here doesnt matter to me - basically 720 was fine for 1 hour, 730 was ok for about 10 mins and 740 bombed out in 3 mins.

So i'm sticking with 715 as i'm guessing thats very stable (very important to me once im done overclocking I just like to leave it :D).

Memory stable at 1000 for a hour, bombs out at 1040 after 10 mins, trying 1020 now if it sticks like this for a hour i'll just keep it.

Will have to use rivatuner to check my shader right?

CPU is E5200 @ 3.4ghz - this and my ram was just a quick overclock as my case and CPU cooler are preety rubbish so I won't push it anymore until I get my Antec 900 next month and maybe a TRUE cpy cooler.

715 is very good. :)
What are you using to OC at the moment? but ya, just use Rivatuner.

3.4ghz is fine all the games at the moment. and pushing this extra bit out of the GT really helps smooths games out, especially the likes of crysis. :)

I'm just using ATI Tool at the moment, ran the memory at 1020 after a hour seems fine, cant be bothered to test it at 1030, 1020 will do me.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who can only reach 700/1750/1010 - If I push any higher I get display driver nvmvvlmskmvsdkmkdm has stopped working, artefacts galore, disco coloured desktop etc.

I don't have the guts to voltmod though so I'll live with it.

Does the shader OC and the core OC have to be the same as the slider suggests on riva tuner? Do you see no performance gains if shader is more than the core equivalent?

^ no, you can unlink them. the 'link clocks' box in Rivatuner ;)
Pushing the shaders higher/ as far as they will go will give better performance.
Even though 1750 is linked to a 700 core. I had unlinked mine, but that was as far as i could get it.

Just started overclocking the shader - will Ati Tool pickup errors on the shader overclock?

not sure, but probably will. Are you using any other programs to test how stable it is? The last over clock I got using the ATI tool wasnt stable with a run through of the crysis benchmark. so be sure to test it out fully :)

Yeah i'm finding ATI Tool isn't picking things up after a hour even 3d Mark 06 picks up (I spot some flashing I think but can't be 100% sure).

Whats a really proper mad badass GPU stress test :)

^ i take it you dont have crysis then? that works great ;)
I really cant think of anything else at the moment.. stick with 3Dmark. and if you think its stable maybe pick a visually demanding game and play that for awhile to test it out.

I dont just the demo, is there a benchmark I could run on loop for free? Will do a quick search.

a mate of mine has been asking me about over clocking his 8800gt, he's got a zalman vf900 fatality on it, which has taken the temps down nicely but i remember wasn't there a few questions about high memory oc's and these cards?

Is 2000 ok?

Ok, I did the voltmod to my 8800GT Inno3D tongiht. Moo Moo nothing to worry about really. I was abit scared but it is so simple. Having said that, it hasnt helped my overclocking at all.

Im still stuck at 720 mhz, coming from 650mhz (i bought a pre- Oc card) thats not bad and will do me until xmas. I was so close to buying a 4870 today :)

Most could do 2,000MHz ok on the RAM but the proof is in the pudding!

Hi guys, just a quick update.

I'm finding running the Crysis benchmark is stressing my PC more than anything out there.

My 24 hour Orothis CPU overclock doesnt seem to be stable anymore according to Crysis and i'm getting no where near the gains I originally thought I had from ATI Tool regarding GFX overclocks.

My card runs fine on ATI Tool with the memory on 1020 for atleast 3 hours (max I tested), Crysis benchmark after about 10 loops crashes, I think 990 is stable but i'm not sure. Most important thing to me is stability so i'll try and find the max overclock - make it Crysis benchmark stable 99 loops then reduce it by 5mhz.

I tend to do a run with COD4 multiplayer. If my system can stand an hour of that it's stable!

Have you soft volt-modded the card yet?
