Hi,

Just bought an OCUK 8800GT, but when I started up my machine after fitting the new card, my systems gives me one long beep before going into the boot sequence. At least I think it's going into the boot sequence, but as I'm getting no signal to my Hitachi CM752 CRT monitor I don't know for certain.

I'm using a Tagan TG420-U01 that has a single +12v rail giving 22amps, and I think this is where my problem is.

Do I need more than 22amps to power the 8800GT?

Thanks in advance for any help.

A long beep could be Video card not inserted properly message or a very long beep, normally contiguous means you have not plugged in power for your video card. See if you get the same with no card in the machine.
22amps should be ok but there's not much head room left especially if its old. Maybe as much as 7% lose per year in power out put.
