I have linked my 8800gt to my tv using dvi-vga and have a monitor connected as normal dvi-dvi.

My question is:
When i wish to use the tv i have to use the clone display option within nvidia control panel, the picture is fine on the tv (lowish resloution) however that resolution is mirrored on my monitors display !
Is there anyway to keep a high res on the tv and and higher resolution on the monitor - or am i doing something wrong?

My other query is why do i get a noticable scan line going up the television every 60-90 seconds???

I hope some of you guys can help

thanks in advance :)

Its a line that will slowly make its way from top to bottom, its almost like an interferance as you cant see it on the monitor

Im seriously thinking of heading over to ATI as spending £200+ on a graphics card for it to be crapped out within a year is not good !

Any other suggestions ?

Oh also, i take it nobody uses the pc monitor and tv at the same time then ? It just strikes me as odd that i have to change the resolution of the monitor each time i finish using the television ???

hmmmmm...

You can setup multiple monitors with independant resolutions however the task bar will only be on the original PC screen.

Best option is to look at setting up a couple of hot keys.

i have the exact same setup.

i dont use clone, i have just assigned a key (alt-f5) on nviews hotkeys to switch between disxplays, when u flick between the displays put it to the resolution you want and it will automatically remember the resolution for that display.
