So i got my Leadtek 8800GT 512 replacement for the 2900XT and i cannot believe how quiet it is!

I bought a 3870 as a stop gap and that was quite noisy.

I am not going mad am i? the 8800 fan in 2D is 29% and even at 100% the noise is more than bearable.

Has anyone else gone from either the 2900/3870 to an 8800GT?

There any advice on whether i should change these? Have i been wrong with Ati all this time?

Even with the old fan design I can hardly hear mine part from startup.

Same when i had mine, only time it was loud (when it sounded like one of those 12v rechargeable car hoovers) was about 2 seconds on start-up, after that it was as quiet as my old GTS, never heard it once, even while underload. :)

I just left mine on the default fan setting also, and never had a prob at all with it.
