Wanting a replacement for my 8800GT 512. Don't want higher performance since I'm only replacing it for power efficiency's sake, and have not the money (translated: don't suggest a 5830 :p)

Was looking at the OEM GTS 240 since that was the same card, but it turns out it isn't die shrinked to 40nm like the rest of the 2xx series.

Still seems like this card is the best bang for buck and I'm not going to be replacing it, but worth a shot. Don't game much so ideally lower idle consumption.

Cheers

A GTS450 would do the trick. OcUK have stopped stocking them recently. But they are similar to 8800/9800GTX's performance wise.

They don't seem to be any more efficient though. It amazes me the lower end cards haven't filled this range yet, seems like they're just not getting any better year on year. IMO the GT430 should match up to the 8800, it's a 5 year old card and can still top a lot of the "mid-range" cards.

Any ideas? :p
