My system is a Opteron 180 @ 2.9ghz, bfg oc 8800 gt 512mb with 2GB ram in windows xp.

I decided to add another gt and the following are my findings.

Before adding the 2nd gt I got the following:

3d Mark 06 - 10005 (4582/4810/2178)

In crysis gpu benchmark at 1920x1200:
High - 24.6fps
Very high xp hack - 13.2fps

Adding a 2nd GT (same brand and spec) then gave me:

3d Mark 06 - 10999 (4586/6111/2194)

In crysis gpu benchmark at 1920x1200:
High - 26fps
Very high xp hack - 16.7fps

This was nowhere near the increase I was expecting, I spent some time working out if sli was working correctly which it was and then enabled the sli load balancing graph and used perfmon to do more testing.

I was suprised to find that in the above tests and even crysis at medium settings I was very much cpu bound, I know the opteron (4800x2) isnt up to the conroes but at 2.9ghz I was suprised it was this much of a problem.

I then started to test enabling AA, I only tested the SM2 tests in 3dmark but I could basically enable 8x AA with no performance hit at all.

With the sli lb graph on its easy to see how much benefit SLI is giving and during firely forest where previously I was getting a 5-20% benefit from SLI I could now see I was getting about 40-80%.

Testing crysis again at high with 2xAA I got 24fps compared to 26, and during the demo I could see sli being used far more than before.

For those of you who want to do a comparison with 3dmark06 at 1280x1024 and 8xAA I got 4538 in SM2 and 4676 in SM3
