I'm not having much luck with this machine recently lol. Dead pixel, dicky OC, and now this:

Got Inno3D 8800GT OC, and decided to have a crack at OC'ing. Couldn't get it stable, so set it back to stock settings (Well, the stock settings for the OC card) and I still get bluescreens in COD4. Any ideas?

What drivers are you using? Try using some different ones.

Was it all 100% fine before you tried overclocking card? Did you keep an eye on temps?

from your sig "8800GT @ 975/2250/1425" pressume thats a typo for the core speed?

The stock oc is 700/1750/2000 which is about the limit for most GTs without extreme cooling and volt mod. If it BSODs then try lower the clock to reference stock 600/1500/1800 and if it's fine at this speed it's simply an unstable stock oc, in which case just rma it.

Yup it BSODs at stock, and its actually running underclocked at the mo and still BSODs. Hmm.... don'td really wanna RMA it because it'll put my rig out of action and I need it for Uni work. Darn...

hmm, hope whoever you want to send it back to don't find out that the card started doing this after overclocking, its gonna be hard to RMA it otherwise

Me neither - but the card is also guaranteed to run slightly faster than the OC provided as well. Can't recall the exact figures, but I'ms ure I've read that somewhere.

Anyhoo, it seems to be working again now - just done a good hour on CoD4 and no problems. Just a blip I guess.
