8800gts 2d and 3d clock settings ?

I'm wanting to set the card to use lower clock settings in 2d and then use higher clock setting's when playing games. I have altered the setting's using nibitor But it either user one or the other when in window's amd does not alter when running 3d or 2d, is there a guide anywhere viet can help me or woul i have to use rivatuner along with compatible drivers to set profiles up for each game i have. At the moment i'm using the latest nvidia drivers which are not supported by rivatuner at the moment . Thanks steve
 
When I had a 8800GTS I think I had to run the 2D clocks at the same speed as the 3D clocks for stability (or maybe I couldn't change them at all like you found) and even if you can run the card at lower speeds in 2D it won't matter much in power use or lower temperature as the voltage stays the same.

8800GTx cards use a lot of power idling
 
Yea i found that no matter how i set the blocks in the bios it will only use one of the settings if it user the stock settings it wont change to 2d amd if i get it to use the 2d it wont change to the 3d settings when in games.
