OK - me and GFX o/cing are noob level.
I have A64 3700[venice] on DFI Lanparty UT NF4 with a Dell 2405FPW.
So I gets me this BFG GTS to upgrade my 6800.
I only really play WoW, though this is at 1920x1200.
Using Rivatune I oc the card to 639/826 and the fps are poor [30-50], I cannot put all the eye candy onand it will freeze on me after random [long] intervals.
Sometimes this has artifacts sometimes not.

Soooooo gentle beings, is this because I need a 6300 and new m/b or I am screwing the cards oc?

To put this another way.... HEEEEEELLLLPPPPP!

if ** getting artifacts overclocking then you need to lower the clock, if your 8800 gts is pulling in those poor fps even overclocked i think id sell that card and go for the GTX or even wait for a better card :(

thats a very high res also bear that in mind..
Can't see an 8800GTS struggling with World Of Warcraft, even a 320MB at that res.

If we were talking about Battlefield 2 or F.E.A.R. with antialiasing maybe, but World Of Warcraft is pretty old.

As said, if you're getting artifacts then you need to downclock. No two ways about that really.

I thought that - buts it a pretty poor oclock [639gpu 826 mem] compared to what I have seen posted.

You can't compare your o/c to what others have achieved, Your core o/c isn't too bad but for some reason you haven't gotten much of an overclock on the memory. Go and read Combat Squirrel's thread regarding o/c GTX/GTS cards and note the discussion regarding 8800 core and stream clocks. If I were you I would back down the core o/c to 621 and see if that helps. If you read the other thread you'll understand why.
