Hi guys!
I just bought an MSI 8800gts 512mb, but I've run into serious problems. The card installs fine, but performance is terrible. I've gone form 100fps average in Fear to 8fps. I dual boot XP (Home SP2) and Vista (Home Premium x64). I've tried all 3 drivers (169.06, 169.25 and 169.21) with drivercleaner.net, and I get the same result every time.
When I boot into XP I get a popup saying the card isn't getting enough power (yes, the 6 pin pcie connector is plugged in
). I've got a 600w Tagan U35, which was more than enough for my old 320mb 8800gts.
I've ordered a 750w Corsair just to rule out PSU issues, but somebody on another forum has suggested the pcie slot isn't delivering enough power. Would raising the pcie voltage solve that?
Specs:
[email protected]
Gigabyte 965p ds4 (F10, rev 1.0)
8800gts 512mb
3x sata2 hdd's
sata dvdrw
x-fi fatal1ty
Any suggestions much appreciated!
