Which games?

I can run most games maxed on my X1800XT 256Meg and thats at 1920x1200, im sure it will be fine for that rez.
 
just wondering, what games do you run maxed out at that res on your x1800xt? Because for new games like oblivion and such, that is actually impossible withouth it being 1-2 frames per second, maybe CSSor something though.
 
be tempted to agree with the above. Certainly couldn't run a lot of stuff maxed out on my old X1800 and that was at 1280 x 1024.

They'll all run fine on the GTS depending on the rest of your spec (might be worth doing a sig). Obviously the GTX will be quicker but it's quite a lot more money.
 
Yeah sorry, my other rig is E6340 (to be 3 ghz) 2 ghz corsair pc5300 (to be 6400) and a gigabyte ds3. I will do a sig lol I always had to! Always too big they say.. :D

I´ve seen benchies where the GTX is just about 30 fps faster in oblivion? In abovementioned resolution. I mean who sees difference in 70 and 100?

There you see theres not much difference between the two. 5 FPS outdoors is not much difference if you ask me

Get a card that your budget allows, you can never have a videocard that is too fast.

IMO maxed out is all settings in game to max together with Gamma Correct Multisampled 16xQAA/16xAF and there is no way a X1800 can run those games at decent FPS maxed out, I am starting to wish I had gone for a GTX now instead of a 640MB GTS

It depends on the settings used, if I use a more conservative settings like 4xAA the FPS are fine in most games.

Some games are just poorly coded or can't use AA like STALKER, GRAW and R6 Vegas which run slow even without AA
