8800GTS 640 issues

Guys, my card has been dropping out of games recently - not sure why and it jsut locks up - only had it 8months.

Bought from OCUK and i think i have the original receipt - is it worth RMA'ing?

games will lock up in the middle of things and the screen will flick once. Cant understand it

Could be a lot lot different issues there mate,no heat issues is there,GPU overheating could cause it to lock like that.

I have also known power supply issues to cause lockups.

Check the heat first mate..

nah got no heat issues - runs great heat wise

check if u the 6 pin conectors are conected right reconect them incase

These did run hot unless the fan speed was increased to 60 + %.

What temps does the card idle at and what temp in game?

Have you checked the card for dust etc...?

Hi guys - turns out i had not connecteed the 6pin correctly - it was loose - had no issues at all since - looks like im back on track lol - i freakin love this card - all you nuts out there that demand the fastest etc - my GTS still plows through most anything without even a blink! Although yes, it will struggle soon lol
