8800GTS Automatic GPU fan speeds

Ive got an 8800GTS and the GPU fan speed is set to automatic (59%) but it never seems to go above this?

If i try to change it to manual and set it to say 75% or above it takes two clicks of apply for it to set and if I reboot it goes back to automatic again?

Im trying to get the GPU temp down has it warms the rest of my case a my CPU temps increases.

These are the latest nvidia drivers (97.92) and ntune (5.05.22.00).

Anyone else had similair problems with their 8T8's?

hi mate all 8800 are like this boo hoo

you have to apply 3 times to get the fan speed to what you want !!.

i have mine at 85% what keeps the gtx cool.

i belive some nice people are working on a tweek for this.... .

Its not just me then, I'll keep me eye open for the next version of drivers/ntune

I use riva tuner to set my fan speeds on the card maually when windows starts. I run it at 95% all the time but have quite a high clock on the card.
