Hi all

im giving some thought to replacing the stock cooler on my 8800.

it seems to be quite loud and the temps on the card seem quite high (around 50c or is that normal?)

i've never done a gfx card cooler so how difficult is it? and also which coolers are compatable with the 8800GTs?

lastly is it worth changing? i have the Gainward bliss 8800Gts 620mb version will a 3rd party cooler work better than the supplied one?

thanks for any help

Personally speaking i think it's fine to leave default cooler on just run rivatuner
to control fan speed 50c is a great temp mine is currently 57c @ 1801 rpm that's 70% fan speed these cards are safe at 85c so is it worth it ? yes i would say could always fit it and sell on when upgrading card and btw there's no worries fitting the stock cooler back on as to whether this voids the warranty and if they can tell you have done this is another matter which i am unsure of.
