Hey guys i have a shuttle sd39p2, turning on the computer last tuesday grey dots were everywhere, then the vista loading screen blue dots everywhere then blue screen. So i thought my gfx card died. Tested on my m8s pc did the same thing. Emailing xfx didnt help at all, they basically told me it was dead.

xfx 320mb 8800gts cost me like £155 at the time

my pc spec atm:

sd39p2 barebone with stock psu ( 400w )
core 2 e6600 2.4ghz ( clocked to 3gz at stock v)
4*1gb Corsair DDR2 TWINX
had xfx 320mb 8800gts now using my brother gfx card x800gto2

SO....... heres the question. I need a new gfx card, BUT im a student and im broke!

I want my new card to be equivalent to my 8800gts or better for the cheapest price possible, its got to fit in my shuttle and its got to be able to cope with my 400w psu. At the time if could support up to 8800gtx

my computer is used for high end gaming mostly. Streaming console like games onto my 37" tv in 1920*1080 as well as playing the latest pc games on my main monitor at 1280*1024

Thx in advanced!

ATI currently offer the best 'bang for buck' cards but if as you say you are broke, then its time to ditch the fanboy'ism and just get the best card your wallet allows.

This card is simply untouchable at this price range and at your res you should be able to max everything out on even the newest of games.

Be nice to see what amps your PSU delivers on the 12v rails though just to be sure.

There's never been a better time to buy budget hardware since the games aren't really keeping up. So a second hand 8800 GTX will play games just as good as anything.

Speaking to my parents saying i "need" a new graphics card for my work they said they would give me up to £150. This has made the search easier!

so heres the big q.

£150
Got to fit in sd39p2
got to work with my 400w psu
looking for value for money

4850 is good its short so it will fit your shuttle it does not need much power only one 6 pin connector. its faster then 8800gtx and cost you 80£ or less
