8800GTS mem problem

Need your help with my 8800GTS...!

I am running Vista Premium and my 320MB 8800GTS is only showing up as 256MB in my Windows Information...

How come? And how can I fix this?

Well, becuase the 256MB card is about £30 odd cheaper..

errr. the 8800 cards only come with 320mb, 640mb (GTS) and 768mb (GTX).

They don't make a 256Mb 8800 GTS.

There's a microsoft hotfix for this, you have to contact them to get it however. (Haven't got link at the mo)

And the fact that the manufacturer number of the card is VD-BFGE86256GTSOCE

"86256" being the key = "8600 GST 256Mb" Check nvidia's website and don't trust shopping search engines.

Also if it was a 256Mb 8800 GTS the core speed is 710Mhz which is 26Mhz more than the fastest Ultra GTX card costimg more than £500.

So if you do really have 710Mhz 8800 GTS 256Mb then I would count myself very, very lucky

Well, I have seen the exact same card in PC World yesterday, with 256MB written on it.. Very strange...I will have to tell them..

Lol, yes. Went back today, and it did say 8800GTS on the box.. When I asked a store person about it, he said "I don't know let me check with a supervisor"
