hi just got myself the bfg 8800gts 64omb,but ive tried coolbits and ntune and cant get then to overclock my card, now ive never used ati tools but what i want to know is when you change the clocks on it do you change all 3,i.e the 2d clock and the other 2 3d clocks to the same, and if so do you save it after that or does it do it itself, sorry for sounding daft but never used it or rivertune before

cheers for that melbourne720,will it auto save at what i put it at or do i have to do it myself cheers m8 for the help,p.s m8 i get 7950 in 3d mark 06 at stock does that sound right cheers

Aye that sounds perfect. Another person with an opty @ 2.6Ghz got 8 thousand odds and 3Dmark06 likes the extra CPU power for points.

Also I think you do have to save it yourself. Well from my experience anyway. I last used ATI Tool in August 2006 so I'm not 100% on it. :)

Ah I'm glad you mentioned that I've got the BFG 8800GTS and I couldn't adjust the clock speeds, I was using Ntune. It wouldn't allow me to move the sliders up or down.

Thought it was a safety measure, as I know overclocking isn't to be done without knowing what you are doing. Glad I'm not the only one, but I've read you can add another 10% if you up the fan a bit more, and get a tad more performance from these puppies...

Unless someone in more know shouts - NO..!!! :p

iv-tecman im using ati tools and ive got it upto 600/1800 for now will push it somemore at a later date, but lovely cards these are,i thought my x1900xt was fast till i can see what this baby can do

I also have an opty and get almost 9000 with quality settings and 621 overclock for the gpu but for some reason I can't overclock the memory (I do but it doesn't change the clocks). I also tried to overclock the gpu to 630 and the system crash!!!!

I wonder was wrong with my system and the memory's overclock, what drivers are you using? the latest 97.92 like me?

Using riva turner, also tried with ati tool and power strip but none of them is able to set up higher memory clocks.

Sounds good, the difference between your rig and a C2D setup will be most in benchmarks, less in games tbh. I got just over 9k at stock, and 10k if I really pushed everything (including the PCI-E bus).
