I got myself a bfg 8800gts on Wednesday put the card in all seemed fine, had some major issues on weds night computer just kept rebooting all the time, got to the point where it would't go past the windows screen and even had to reset the cmos which seemed to sort the problem out, previous to this i had a x1900xt and had none of these problems at all.

My system is a
[email protected](thought maybe it was this so down clocked it)
Gigabyte 965P-S3
4x512 Geil Ultra Low ddr 800 ram
1x raptor 37, 1x 200 gig sata
audigy 2
Antec TruePower 2.0 550W PSU

There is one later bios for the mobo but thats to support quad cores so never botherd putting that in.

Now i did ask about my psu and was told it was more than upto the job, ive had the core2 clocked at 3 gig before with no issues at all on the x1900xt so doubt its that, the pc was up fine yesterday i even gamed and the pc was fine but i left it on last night, checked this morning and it had rebooted again, i do know my raptor was making some strange like squeeling noise odly when i put this card in but that seems ok now, anyone got any ideas.

Was this a fresh install of windows? and if not did you use driver cleaner to get rid of your last drivers?

Your psu should be fine as long as it has enough 12v power.

I have the same problem jabbs, when my cpu is overclocked i get random crashes as stock everythings ok. Getting conroe rig tommorow so fresh install is on the way.

Mine was a fresh install i always do when i put a new card in, the psu says on it 12v1=19a 12v2=19a, but as i say above i never had problems with the x1900xt in.
