Okay, need some help! :(

PC was running fine, for about 20minutes, then suddenly purple lines and blocks started popping up all over the place and flickering around. Visuals eventually locked up completely and stpped responding to anything.

Tried resetting, instantly vertical purple lines were there. Sometimes green or white, i think its depening ont he colour it's trying to produce.

Tried re-seating, de-dusting and re-moving/re-installing graphics card. tried 3 sets of drivers.different PSU connections, different monitors and different cables.

am i right in assuming that my graphics card is dead? its a BFG model, bought March 07.

Thanks

Also, device manager doesnt even think the card exists anymore, and says it is unable to start, although fully installed etc.

ahh nips. Ive emailed BFG, hopefully theyll be able to sort me out. i have no idea if im still under warrantee or not though, plus i have a really bad feeling all i have for proof of purchase is the email i recieved when maknig the order... sigh. i bought it from here, so would OCuk sort out my RMA do you reckon?

Well you got your card before they brought in the 'registered within 30 days' rule, so you should have 10 years warranty on the card.

Bit of luck you might get an upgrade for your troubles ;)

got a reply from BFG:

Chuffed with that! and yeh i hope they do send me a better card haha. i swear they dont make the 8800gts 320MB OC anymore anyway so surely they'd have to? im gona milk it a bit and see haha

How can you milk it? They will probably have spare stock, and if not they'll already have an equivalent card lined up. You don't have any say in the matter.
