as you can see in my sig what ive got, will my 4600x2 be ok for this card or will i need to be overclocking it, as it is time to sell my x1900xt and move to dx10 now while ive got the money,is there much difference in performance compared to the gtx as i will be overclocking the gts, thanks for any help

- It will be ok with your processor.
- There will be certain features the GTS will never have no matter how massively overclocked it is.

See here GTS even whoops the x1900 XT. :D

Also a good Athlon 64 performance review of the GTX/GTS here so you can see how it will run on your 4600. :)

Oops i should have edited my above post, sorry. :o

GTX has 128 stream processors, GTS only has 96, it will never be as fast as the GTX, its still an awesome card though. :)

Put the to side by side and you will never know the difference, even if you took a SS and you still find it hard to tell if you can @ all, the gts is for those that game up to 1600 X 1200 or 1650 X 1050 any higher the that’s where the GTX starts to show it worth, its not about FPS cos as long as you can get between 60 to 100 on avg then your doing fine, any more than that makes no difference as the EYE cant see the difference but it will show you the difference in IQ between any card prior to the 8800’s if you can wait a bit then im sure you will be spoilt for choice when the R600 are out, this should drive a nice price war so you should save money too, I for one will be eBaying my GTS soon!

lo m8 little of topic but i have a gts and it comes in it's own at 1600*1200 but at 1280*1024 it hurts my rig, much better results at higher res for me.

cheers.

well at 1280x1024 its more cpu intesive as the gpu has less to work on
while at a higher res the gpu can strech it legs and perform very well
