I have just got hold of a 8800GTS (Club 3D) to plonk in to my older system. It currently has a MSI Neo4F socket 939 board and the card does not appear to be compatible with it. Will it be compatible with the Asrock 939NF6G-VSTA Micro ATX board from here? There is also the Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe (not in stock currently), any good for this?

I really do not want to be getting a new processor/memory etc to use this card.

It's bizarre, the machine will post with it in and get to the loading win XP screen, then freeze. I put the X800XL back in, no problem. I have removed and cleaned the drivers, reinstalled windows and performed sacrifices over the machine to no effect.

I know it is not power (Hiper Type M 580w) and I know the 8800 works in my Intel Core 2 machine. I am totally out of ideas.

Solved it. Turns out is was Nforce 4 drivers for the motherboard causing the issue. I installed the most upto date driver and bam. It works.

Thanks for the help.

good to see you got it working, even better u actually posted what the issue was, shame more people dont instead of just putting "fixed it" :)

Obviously I can't speak for the original poster but the two I've used for pc builds for friends wouldn't post past the 265-275HTT mark, regardless of changes to LDT Multi, Chipset Voltage, Mem Dividers, CPU Voltage and Multi.

ahh interesting, a lot of the reviews iv read for micro atx boards for socket 939 seem to top out at 240htt.

do you know of a s939 microatx board which can do 290htt or more?
