My temps monitored by Rivatuner show as 69 degrees on the core during gameplay and idles at 60. Compared to a lot of other people this seems good! But I am wondering if it is possible that the readings could be wrong. There's no problems with the card or anything, which is overclocked at 646/1526/885 (I'm in the middle of OC'ing, which is how I noticed the temps). Am I just lucky?

Ah sorry, I forgot to mention I set the fan to 100% all the time. I guess that explains it :) I am guessing that everyone else puts theirs on 'auto' to keep the noise down?

Thanks for the replies

No overclocking these doesn't raise temps really, i have never noticed any increase at all which is strange but true.
Set up a fan profile on rivatuner http://home.comcast.net/~boogieman1954/8800 fan speed guide.htm
My 8800 is currently at 54c rooms quite warm fan is at 60% 1500 rpm.

I must be unlucky then. At stock pre overclocked speeds my card gets to 70 degrees. Overclock as per my sig and it gets to 80 degrees. Downclock it to standard 8800 GTS speeds and it only gets to 60 degrees.

And that's with my fan running at 100% in 3d as well.

Hell my 8800 GTS doesn't even do 54 degrees at idle :(

I;d say they were good temps at that overclock. ten degrees less than me.

at 650/1650/900 mine idles at 57 and sits and 63 on load with the fan at 100% duty cycle all the time as i really dont mind the noise of fanse.

Hmm now that you guys mention it, I don't think I've heard my 8800 fan in a while now. It used to always go loud when I played games. Hmmmmmm

Mine idles at 60c and at max gets to 76c under load. However, after that it idles at 66c because it is warm. I have fan speed profiles set up anyway.

My ultra at 720/1900/1180 idles at 46°c an loads at 57°c...

(must be a water thing ;) [/showoff])

Now that is just plain showing off. If it wasn;t bad enough your sentence started with "My ultra..." you then had to rub salt in the wounds by adding watercooled.

Sme people earn too much money.........:p
