8800gts temps?

Having only had ATI cards up to know, I'm at a bit of a loss, can anyone give me some idea for what sort of temps I should be trying to stay under with this card?

Also, only having used ATI tool before, are there any guides on how best to use rivatuner? maybe its just because I'm stupid but it seems a lot more complicated!

Can't help with ATi Tool or Rivatuner, but idealy you want temps underload to be around 80's or under, and at idle anywhere around 60 will be fine.

Mine can idle anywhere from 54 to 64 depending on the weather, and underload ive not seen more than about 76-78.

I use ATi tool to find the highest core, then reset the core to very low, lower than normal if you want and try and find the max memory. Then try both maximums together, test and alter if necessary and then use the values in rivatuner so it sets them every time you boot up. Voila!

Errm sorry to continue to be stupid, but now I've installed the 8800gts ATI tool tells me I can only use it to scan artifacts, and everything else seems disabled? Is there something I can do to alter this?

idle around 56 and load around 73 - 76 with it Oc'd to 625 / 850 mhz

i have a 120mm fan in the case blasting at it, as it was getting pretty hot without it in my cheapo case lol

fan set to start at full speed with nvstrip when a 3d app starts and the card oc'd @ 600/900 idles @ 53 load @65

It doesnt tell me anymore but IIRC its version 24, is that the latest?

I've got 0.27 and I downloaded when I got my 8800 two weeks ago and it works fine so I suggest you download that version and try it.

Version 0,.24 may not have had support for the 8 series since they weren't out then
