My 8800TS 512mb is struggling with MW/WAW (1680x1050) and think i need an upgrade before MW2.

Max i want to spend is around £150 (new or used) as i also need a block for it.

Not bothered about bench scores just fps

For that kinda price range i'd say the 5770 is your best bet or if you want to save abit more go for the 5850

Price/performance is very high, full current-gen featureset, add a 2nd card for 5870 performance whilst still remaining cheap.

Very happy with my two for the cost.

sadly a second card isnt much of an option due to the full cover blocks being £70 a time, in theory it would cost me £400 for 2 5770's so looking for the best single card set up.

Although i do prefer nvidia, my only real options for £200 all in with a block seem to be:
5770
GTX 260
4890
4870 x2

Although i'm edging away from the 5770 due to the fps hit and not much interest in DX11.

Personally either get a 4890 or gtx260 used as they are going cheap and even plenty of blocks around so you should get both for well under £150. I was selling my gtx260 216 SC with full ek block for £130.

When I went from my 8800gts to my gtx260 it was a massive boost at the same res you play.

Downside is no dx11 support and depends how you feel on that. If you think that's important then get a 5770 as that almost within your budget (but still over with a full block unless you go for just the core block and ramsinks)

EDIT: Just realised your budget was £150 without the block. My post still stands though as the ones I said will more than do for a fill in. The 5770 is not far short of 4870 speeds so slightly less than gtx260 216 but you gain dx11 and it's performance will only improve with drivers. I wouldn;t blow my whole budget on old tech though.

the 4870 X2 needs its own waterblock not a 4870 waterblock etc

They all need different blocks but i can get the x2 one for £40 ;)

I put a £150 budget for the card only (£200 all in) which just covers all 4.
I personally can't see DX11 being an issue, i dont play many games and by the time i move on these will be dated lol

Thanks for all the inputs :)
